It is a guiding principle for the design of IT systems and processes\u2014and thus a clear mandate for companies that develop or operate digital products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why Data Privacy Is Essential for Businesses<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, companies process a wide variety of sensitive data: customer, employee, usage, and business data. This data is an essential component of modern value creation, but it also poses significant risks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Data that is inadequately protected can be compromised in the event of a security incident. The consequences range from business disruptions and financial losses to a lasting loss of trust. Data protection defines the legal and organizational framework for handling personal data. Data security ensures that this data is protected through technical measures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Data security specifically addresses the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Confidentiality<\/strong>: Protection against unauthorized access,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Integrity<\/strong>: Protection against unnoticed or unauthorized changes,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Availability<\/strong>: Ensuring stable and resilient systems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Measures such as regular&nbsp;<strong>Penetration Tests<\/strong>&nbsp;or structured&nbsp;<strong>Security Checks<\/strong>&nbsp;are key tools for achieving these goals. Certifications and standardized testing procedures provide transparency and comparability in this regard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Common instruments include, among others:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the\u00a0<strong>BSI Basic Protection<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>ISO\/IEC 27001<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/enx.com\/tisax\">TISAX<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0in the automotive sector,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>structured\u00a0<strong>GDPR Compliance Assessments<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They are not a substitute for an individual risk analysis, but they are an important component of professional IT governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As IT Sonix, we have our information security processes reviewed on a regular basis and have completed a TISAX assessment.
