For several years now, we have been working with market-leading renewable energy providers to offer efficient and future-proof solutions for highly complex processes. We have also gained experience in implementing sustainable software applications in the mobility and logistics sectors. Through our projects with well-known companies, we are firmly established in the industry.
In addition, we are guided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and as part of the Data Respons Group, we have set a goal to reduce CO₂ emissions by 20252- to become neutral.
Our Projects
Online Energy Trading Platform for Renewable Energy
We have developed an energy trading platform for the German market and are now expanding the concept to all of Europe. The platform makes it possible to sell energy in lots of at least 3,000 MWh—whether from solar, wind, hydro, or biogas, as long as it’s sustainable. This allows energy suppliers to market their offerings in the best possible way and receive the correct market price without delay. At the same time, the platform also creates incentives for more and more people to invest in small amounts of renewable energy. Surplus energy can simply be offered through the portal.
The project contributes to the green transition and offers the opportunity to benefit from sustainable energy generation even with minimal effort and knowledge of the energy market.
Online Solar Power Platform for Everyone
A similar project is our development of an online platform that promotes properties for future solar power plants. Landowners post listings detailing the conditions of their property, on which solar panels are to be installed. This allows solar energy and energy storage providers to easily contact the landowners and submit their customized offers. Another major advantage of this platform is that it also serves as a bridge to the open energy market. Landowners with a solar system on their property can later buy back the energy at a discount or use it elsewhere—for example, at their vacation home.
The online platform enables people whose properties are only suitable for installing small solar systems to easily get in touch with companies. This allows them to access renewable energy simply and hassle-free and become nearly self-sufficient. Above all, however, the platform also lowers the barrier for private individuals to supply renewable energy and participate in a future-proof energy infrastructure.
Predictive Maintenance for Solar Power Storage Systems
In collaboration with one of Europe’s leading renewable energy service providers, we have implemented an innovative predictive maintenance system for solar power storage systems. A neural network was developed and trained using large volumes of data. The software uses transmitted real-time data to identify devices prone to failure at an early stage.
Looking ahead, in a few years there may not be 75,000 storage units installed in private households around the world, but rather 500,000 or even 1 million—without any scaling issues. Together with our project partners, we are driving the energy transition forward.
Smarter and More Effective Windmills
Our next project is all about making wind turbines more effective and intelligent through automation and smarter connectivity. Wind turbines require regular maintenance and cannot be operated under certain circumstances—for example, when endangered bird species are passing through an area or when wind speeds exceed a certain threshold.
We have developed and implemented a software package that collects data on wind turbine availability over a specified period. This data enables more reliable planning of operating time and estimated downtime. With more accurate data and a resulting better understanding of operations, it becomes easier to feed wind energy into the grid. Wind farm operators thus gain a clear picture of the potential energy mix at any given time.
Smart Charging Network for All of Germany
Anyone who owns an electric car in Germany has probably encountered the problem of not being able to find a working charging station—or even a suitable one at all. The large number of charging providers, as well as the difficulty in accessing information about their locations, often leads to a tedious process for what should actually be a simple task: charging an electric car.
For this reason, we have developed a platform that brings together multiple charging providers on a single digital platform, making it easier to charge an electric car at various providers. The first phase of launching the product in Germany has gotten off to a successful start, and plans for Europe-wide expansion are already underway. New providers and charging stations are being integrated on an ongoing basis. For the energy transition to succeed, a functional infrastructure must also be put in place. This project is a major step in the right direction. It not only increases the appeal of electric vehicles but also contributes significantly to the expansion of this future-proof technology.
Urban Electric Car Sharing
Statistics show that cars are parked 95 % of the time. In recent years, we have been working on an e-car-sharing platform for one of our clients. The goal of the platform was to enable more efficient use of vehicles and to reduce their number in cities. From architecture to agile coaching to development, our employees took on leading roles in nearly all areas and components of the project. The aim is thus to promote the use of electric cars.
Electric car-sharing helps make our cities quieter, less polluted, and, overall, more livable again. These vehicles are used only when they are actually needed and do not emit any pollutants while in use.
Transporting More Goods with Fewer Trucks
Freight transport by truck is an integral part of our infrastructure and offers numerous opportunities for becoming more sustainable. Efficiency and real-time information play a key role in this. For example, more accurate data and optimized connectivity can help transport more goods with fewer trucks, avoid unnecessary trips, and identify low-emission routes.
Together with our project partner, we have developed a comprehensive telematics and logistics solution that connects every truck in the fleet to the cloud, thereby taking connectivity and data collection to a whole new level.

Sustainability in the Workplace
However, we don't just focus on supporting sustainable innovation in our software projects; for years, we've also been working to make our office and our processes more environmentally friendly.
One of our first steps back then was switching to 100 % green electricity from renewable energy sources for our office. As for our hardware, we try to use it for as long as possible. For example, some of our teams use old laptops as control units for our hardware security or to display monitoring data, rather than purchasing new computers for these purposes. As a general rule, we try to reuse older hardware internally or donate it.
We have also streamlined or digitized the majority of our internal processes to reduce our paper output. To this end, we have purchased our own software and hardware—for example, to enable digital document signing. The Atlassian toolsuite, with its extensive customizations and proprietary add-ons, plays a central role in this effort. If something does need to be printed, we use recycled paper.
In addition, we are taking steps to reduce our business travel. Most of our meetings are already held online, and when business travel is truly unavoidable, our employees prefer to take the train rather than fly, whenever possible.
As far as the potential of Green IT is concerned, we are just getting started and are currently evaluating various concepts for our company. We are always looking for new ways and means to reduce our CO2- to reduce consumption. In addition to our membership in the Data Respons Group and our commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, it is above all our Sustainability Guild that drives this issue forward within our company. Since 2019, it has been actively raising awareness of sustainability and implementing concrete measures that affect our entire daily office routine.
