Last week, our Xperts were present at the WIK-Leipzig at the HTWK. Launched in 1999, the WIK (Wirtschafts- und Industriekontakte / Business and industry contacts) company contact fairs are among the most successful in Germany for students and alumni. With numerous exhibitors, they offer young people a good opportunity to make initial contacts for starting a career.
We were there with our HR team and a software engineer and had many interesting conversations with some of the more than 1500 visitors to the fair. We were particularly pleased that many of them had already had positive impressions of us from other job fairs and were keen to talk to us again. WIK-Leipzig was a good opportunity for us to make direct contact with students and show them attractive career opportunities for innovative software development in the region. However, the interested visitors included not only future programmers, but also students who would later like to get started in UX/UI design, who had lively conversations with us.
Our aim was to give the students an authentic picture of our corporate culture: open, sustainable and agile. As an IT company in the region, it is important to us to be able to offer young talent from the surrounding area sustainable career prospects in the IT sector.
