Caggtus Reloaded

When loads of hardware and numerous inflatable beds and sleeping bags are carted into the Leipzig Exhibition Centre, it's Caggtus again. While the cancellation of DreamHack initially came as a shock to the community, in its only second year Caggtus shows how to organise a captivating gaming festival.

With around 1,900 gamers, it was not only the largest LAN in Germany, but also recorded a significant increase compared to the previous year with over 17,000 visitors. Of course, our X-Force was not to be missed.

Ten of our employees set up camp amidst glowing screens and colourful LED lights. Their distinguishing marks? Comfortable IT Sonix zip hoodies and glowing blue X-Force cubes on their computers. Spread over three days, the group took part in a total of four tournaments: EA FC 24, CS2, LoL and Apex Legends. Although the play-offs seemed within reach at times, in the end the gap was too great. In addition to the LAN, the festival also had its own entertainment area, which featured merchandise, a freeplay area, the indie ground and a cosplay competition, among other things. Anyone who wanted to experience the Twitch stars in real life could do so in the stream area at numerous events.

Even if the big triumph didn't materialise from a gaming perspective, the festival was a complete success for our X-Force. As with our in-house IT Sonix LAN at the beginning of the year, the team's main focus was on having fun, and there was plenty of that. If you want to see for yourself, you can watch the stream here:
