Last weekend, the city was once again in a floorball frenzy. In best-of-three mode, the Leipzig team faced FBC Munich for promotion to the 1st Bundesliga. As a long-standing sponsor, we were eagerly awaiting the most important game of the year for our team.
With a 0:1 deficit in the series, SC DHfK Leipzig had their backs to the wall and had to utilise the home advantage for the second game. Leipzig scored the first goal after just 16 minutes and the arena was buzzing. Only a few minutes later, Munich emerged from their shock and equalised shortly before the end of the first period. Bayern dominated the rest of the game and were rewarded with three more goals. SC DHfK started the final period with a lot of crowd support and team spirit. The Leipzig team was able to break through the Bavarian defence and score another goal thanks to first-class stick combinations and skill. However, this came too late and so the return to the 1st Bundesliga was missed for the time being that evening. It was another exciting season and we are proud to be part of this floorball adventure!
The club also offers floorball for all age groups - from youngsters to the oldies team. In addition to the Bundesliga, SC DHfK also focusses on working with young talent. Sustainable team and youth development are the basis of a successful organisation and have a positive impact on society.
