In two days, it will be World Usability Day and, once again, IT Sonix is a part of this global campaign day. The WUD in Leipzig celebrates its fourth anniversary this year and yet everything is very different…

On 12/11/2020, the IT Sonix User Experience Design team will host the World Usability Day (WUD) in Leipzig for the fourth successive year. This global campaign day raises and strengthens awareness of technology as a decisive factor for the development and enhancement of human potential. No one should fail because of a poorly designed product. Good usability reduces the barriers between humans and computers to a minimum, making interaction not just as natural as possible, but also extremely efficient.

Over the years, the number of visitors in Leipzig has increased considerably, with last year’s event attracting almost 300 participants. In addition to the usual high-quality programme, the WUD has a special feature this year: it is taking place remotely for the first time. Besides protecting your health, this also increases your chance of securing one of the coveted places.

Good usability is crucial for modern, future-proof products. For many companies, this mindset has become indispensable and IT Sonix has sent out a strong signal for progress with the WUD conference, which was held in eastern Germany for the first time four years ago. The WUD in Leipzig has long been a fixture in the annual calendar of future-oriented thinkers, bringing together usability professionals as well as representatives from industry, education and public institutions.

Once again, the User Experience Design team at IT Sonix received numerous submissions for this year’s event from renowned experts from all over Germany. The best contributions have been selected and their varied topics make for an informative and exciting programme.

The event kicks off with the keynote lecture, AI im UXD – ein Pitch (AI in UXD – a pitch). Christoph Specht from the IT Sonix UXD team discusses the risks and opportunities afforded by AI-based applications in the working world with Frank Stumpf (IT Sonix) and Larissa Koch (Verwegener&Trefflich). Together they will provide insights into the topic that will shape the entire day: human-centred AI.

A free event of this size also relies on external funding and so we are once again supported by our long-standing partners Data Respons and Webfleet Solutions, as well as our sponsors t3n and sketch.
