Last week we were very busy. Our Xperts not only demonstrated their sprinting experience at the Leipzig Company Run and their power at the Sparkassen Table Tennis Company Cup. A colourful mix of Agile Coaches as well as our UXD and HR department was also represented at the second edition of the MACHN festival in the Leipzig Baumwollspinnerei. But let's take it one step at a time.
The Leipzig company run has been a fixture in our annual calendar for several years now. With 18 employees, we were well represented again this time and our fastest runner even placed among the top 250 in the 17,000-strong field of participants. Afterwards, we celebrated our athletes with cold drinks and pizza in the Palmengarten.
At the end of the week, the next sporting event was on the agenda for our Xperts: the Sparkasse Table Tennis Company Cup. Numerous topspin balls were hit and fended off on a total of 21 tables in the Brüderstraße sports hall. In the end, our Xperts secured 12th place and only just missed out on the mixed doubles title.
In between, we were at MACHN. After a successful start last year, the middle Germany start-up scene came together for the second time at the MACHN festival in Leipzig. For two days, the grounds of the former cotton mill were dominated by the festival motto: Tech, Business & Art. Exciting lectures and workshops offered numerous points of contact for networking and getting to know each other better.
A group of our employees mingled amongst the illustrious festival visitors. Equipped with stickers and flower seeds, they drew attention to us as the organisers of the WUD as well as an attractive employer and IT partner in the region.
Our Xperts buzzed across the lawns and paths between the picturesque brick buildings and put out feelers for new talent and contacts. But networking was not the only focus. The relaxed festival atmosphere and the excellent weather lent the event its very own charm and also brought our team closer together outside the office. We also managed to record a few kilometres in the process.
As a sports-loving IT company, exercise and team spirit are an integral part of our corporate culture. Our regular participation in sporting events shows that we live out agility not only in the office. But for us, it's not just about sporting success, but also about sustainability. With our in-house sports competition "move IT", we actively support climate protection. All year round, we collect kilometres for the health of our planet. Every outdoor sporting activity counts - even a visit to the MACHN festival. And the best thing about it: for every 1,000 kilometres covered, we plant one tree. Our goal for this year? A proud 77,777 kilometres! Together we keep ourselves and our environment fit.
